Rosa

Rosa is 59. She works on the land and keeps house. She has colon trouble, arthritis, hypertension and high triglycerides, and she is diabetic, which complicates her general health.

She had just spent almost three weeks in bed with typhoid fever when she came to the clinic. The examination found the remains of necrotic and infected teeth. She had been 40 years without teeth.

Having so little money had always made dental and general health care hard for Rosa to reach. She believed she would die without ever having dentures.
