Lucila

Lucila is 56 and has epilepsy. She is looked after by her sister, who is 66 and keeps their modest home. Her seizures and the severity of her condition are now better controlled, but her medication causes gingival hyperplasia, an overgrowth of the gums that changes the shape of the mouth and even of the face.

Lucila has only six natural teeth left, which has made eating difficult for most of her life. On her limited means, dental treatment had always been out of reach.
