Tomasa

Tomasa is 60. She works repairing shoes from house to house, a trade she learned from her husband, who is quite elderly. She has two sons: a 29-year-old with kidney failure and a 24-year-old with special needs.

She has high blood pressure, diabetes and gastric issues. Twenty years ago she lost all of her teeth in a car accident. At the clinic the team found severe bone loss and a pronounced deviation in her jaw.

She has been rehabilitated with a full set of dentures, which has improved her chewing and her confidence. At her request the clinic added two anterior upper silver crowns that had belonged to her mother. “I want to remind my family this way,” she said.
