María Isabel

María Isabel is 65 and has always worked in the fields and kept house. Her workload is heavier because she also cares for her son, who is blind and has had a leg amputated.

She has few resources and at times gets by on help from her community. For 25 years she has had severe headaches and muscle trouble in her back and neck.

The early loss of her teeth caused severe bone loss and other deformities of the bone. Her rehabilitation was complex and took several rounds of physiotherapy, and it is now complete.
