Lorenza

Lorenza, known as Niña Lencha, is 70. She has been without teeth for 32 years, since 1993. The dentures she used at first never fitted properly and eventually broke, and she has significant alveolar bone loss.

She also lives with rheumatoid arthritis, which causes severe chronic pain. She takes painkillers and steroids every day, and gets around with a cane and her granddaughter’s help. Two years ago she had surgery on her face and a skin graft on her nose because of skin cancer.

For all of that, she shows off her new smile proudly. It was paid for with donations in Bitcoin.
