Maura

Maura lives alone. Her children went abroad in search of a better future. She is elderly and uses a wheelchair, which makes stairs difficult and makes even a trip to a health centre hard to arrange.

She remembers her working years and the raising of her children with joy, and with the eagerness of a young girl. She has kept going all her life, and her conviction and clear mind show it. On our visits to the community we found that she was wearing an old prosthesis, broken and worn out of shape by use.

Maura now has her smile back.
