Maria

Maria is 68 and retired. She lives on her own in Palmarcito, where neighbours sometimes lend a hand, and she looks after her small garden and her house every day.

Arthritis makes walking difficult for her. High blood pressure and cataracts bring discomfort, eye strain and tiredness. At 22 she lost her teeth permanently to periodontal disease.

Maria now has a new dental prosthesis and her smile back.
